David M. Stark, M.D. |
He graduated with honors from Rice University in 1979, with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He also lettered in Track and Field for the Division 1 Rice Owls, participating in the pole vault all four years. He earned his Medical Degree from Baylor University School of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 1984. He then completed his Orthopedic Residency training also at Baylor University School of Medicine in Houston, in 1988. Dr. Stark entered into private practice in orthopedic surgery in 1988 in Weatherford, Texas. After 15 years of developing a large, successful practice, he relocated to Abilene to join Drs. Holloway and Cooke at Abilene Bone and Joint. Dr. Stark is currently serving as the head orthopedic physician for Abilene Christian University. He also trained Family Medicine Residency interns with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He participates in the mentoring program for Abilene Christian University students who are interested in health care professions. He was Board Certified in 1990, and recertified in 2000 and 2010. Dr. Stark's personal hobbies and interests include hunting and fishing, flying and restoring antique airplanes, running and being a soccer/track parent. He is a member of First Central Presbyterian Church, Abilene. He is married and has two children. |
